About

Acquire is a mission-led initiative by African digital media platform, Pin Africa. Acquire equips aspiring storytellers and journalists from Africa and the diaspora with the tools, resources, skills, network, and experience they need to tell authentic African stories to a global audience.

In addition, the platform serves as a research and development hub for the profession in Africa and its diaspora.

What We Do

Acquire provides tools, training, guided practise, mentorship, and networking opportunities over time through our programmes and e-learning platform. Acquire also assists with portfolio development through a mandatory "apprenticeship" period at Pin Africa.

Our programmes and campaigns are carried out in collaboration with relevant industry enablers, development partners, media outlets, and government agencies.

Our programmes raise awareness of Pin Africa while also dominating global digital media with original stories from Africa and its diaspora.

Acquire’s SDGs

To shape the narrative of Africa, Acquire directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, 8, 10, 13 and 16.

Our Mission & Vision

Mission

To create a global platform for original African stories told by Africans and facilitate the dominance of authentic African stories and storytellers in the world.

Vision

A world where Africans own the narrative of Africa and inspire pride and aspiration in Africa and the diaspora.

Statement of Change

Our Theory of Change argues that if we empower African storytellers and journalists to gain skills, capacity, and knowledge, we will be able to communicate more original African stories to a larger audience, break stereotypes, and eventually shift Africa's narrative to one of pride and aspiration; advancing increased editorial leadership and African agency over our narratives.

Our Team

We are a global team of Africans working together towards one ambition.
